SUMMARY:* Wildlife in Your Backyard: Free Live Animal Presentation for Families
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, January 19\, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.\n\n NRWA River Resource Center\, 592 Main Street (Rt. 119) in Groton\n\n \n\nMany of us have seen deer and woodchucks in our yard\, maybe we've even heard coyotes or found the tracks of a fox. The NRWA invites families to learn more about the "Wildlife in Your Backyard" and meet some of your wild neighbors. This free public event will feature Rick Roth's Creature Teacher program with a presentation and live animal specimens such as a woodchuck\, skunk\, opossum\, or fox wildlife that could be found in your backyard. Program attendees will see the animals first hand and learn about how they survive right alongside humans. There will be an opportunity to ask questions of both the presenter and NRWA Education staff. After the presentation\, children will be invited to create a drawing\, poem\, or story about their favorite animal. The drawing and stories will be posted at the NRWA in our "Wildlife in Your Backyard" display. \n\n \n\nThis program is free and open to the public\, made possible in part by a grant from the Groton Cultural Council\, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council\, a state agency. Seating is limited and pre-registration is strongly recommended. Seats for all pre-registrants will be held until 12:55 at which time open seats will be released to walk-in attendees. To pre-register\, please contact Pam Gilfillan\, NRWA Development Associate\, at (978) 448-0299\, or email Pam. FREE
