SUMMARY:* The Science of Maple Sugaring: Science Saturday for 7 to 11 Year Olds
DESCRIPTION:The Science of Maple Sugaring: Science Saturday for 7 to 11 Year Olds\n\nSaturday\, March 9\, 2013\, 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.\, NRWA River Resource Center\, 592 Main Street (Rt. 119) in Groton\n\n \n\n \n\nYoung scientists will begin the day learning about bud structure and how to find a maple tree based on the bud. We'll play a game to learn about how trees transport sugar water all through the tree and then we will go outside and drill a tree. After collecting sap\, we will do experiments with sugar concentrations. And of course\, finish the day with a maple snack! Science Saturday costs $25. Pre-registration is required\; to register\, contact Mary Marro\, NRWA Environmental Education Director\, (978) 448-0299 or MaryM@NashuaRiverWatershed.org.
