Tarbell\, one of the Ten American Painters and founding member of the Boston School of Painting.\n\n								 \n\n								Edmund Tarbell was born in West Groton in 1862\, a direct descendant of Thomas Tarbell\, one of the original proprietors of the Town of Groton. RiverCourt Residences sits on the land originally housing Tarbell's Mills\, a grist and saw mill.
