DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, March 23rd at 2:00 pm\, all are invited to the Shirley Historical Society Museum\, 182 Center Road and learn about Tapping Maple Trees and see what can be made from collecting and cooking the sap. First\, Bill and Ally Hotz will give a brief history of maple sap harvesting from the time of the Native Americans to the colonists. Then they will explain why sap runs and when. They will describe collecting\, processing\, boiling\, and bottling. On exhibit will be different types of taps and other tools.
