The Shirley Police Department\, Societal Heroin Addiction Awareness Resource Project (S.H.A.A.R.P.)\, Rx Abuse Leadership Initiative (RALI) and Code 3 are partnering to bring the RALI CARES educational trailer to Massachusetts.
\n\nThe goal of this collaboration is to educate community members about early warning signs among teenagers and children.
\n\nThe RALI CARES trailer is an interactive experience\, set up as a mock teenage bedroom for families to walk through and look at possible warning signs of drug abuse or use.
\n\nAs attendees walk through\, law enforcement and experts will answer questions and teach participants about warning signs\, potential areas of concern\, and how to talk to children. It can be an emotional experience as parents walking through are hit with the reality of how normalized this issue has become.
\n\nThe trailer was designed with the help of former addicts as well as parents\, who pointed out location and concealing tactics they had used while struggling with their addictions. The trailer is a helpful tool in prevention and early warning sign education.
\n\nThis trailer will be set up at the Ayer-Shirley Regional Middle School parking lot (1 Hospital Road in Shirley) on August 29\, 2019 from 3:00pm to 6:00 pm
