DESCRIPTION:The Nashua River Wild and Scenic River Act Bill is to be filed this year before Congresswoman Niki Tsongas retires. This is exciting news as the NRWA was concerned the bill might not have the support to get filed this legislative session.  A press conference will be held next week and the NRWA is inviting all their supporters to attend.  You may recall the DEC has assisted with and supported this nomination so if you are able to attend\, please let Kate know. DEC Staff will be attending as well.\n\n \n\n \n\nCongresswoman Niki Tsongas (MA-03) will be holding a press conference on Thursday\, September 20\, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nashua River Watershed Association s River Resource Center in Groton\, MA (592 Main Street) to announce introduction of the Nashua River Wild and Scenic River Act\, a bill authored by Congresswoman Tsongas and Congresswoman Ann McLane Kuster (NH-02) that would add segments of the Nashua\, Squannacook\, and Nissitissit Rivers to the national Wild and Scenic Rivers System.
