SUMMARY:* NRWA Winter Wildlife Tracks and Signs: Beavers\, Otters\, Mink\, and More Two-part Program: Zoom and Guided Walk (Nashua River Watershed)
DESCRIPTION:NRWA Winter Wildlife Tracks and Signs: Beavers\, Otters\, Mink\, and More\n\nTwo-part Program: Zoom and Guided Walk\nJoin Nashua River Watershed Association (NRWA) naturalists Stacey Chilcoat and Gaynor Bigelbach for an adventurous afternoon exploring the woodlands along the Nashua River for tracks and signs of our most beloved river animals. This two-part program includes:\n\n\n	Friday\, February 17th at 7:00 p.m.: an hour-long Zoom tracking skills preparation session \n	Saturday\, February 18th from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.: an outdoor exploration in the J. Harry Rich State Forest \n\nThese remarkable animals display the most interesting physical and behavioral adaptations while living in and around our waterways during the coldest New England months. Their innate abilities to create secure shelter\, find nutritious food\, and maintain an active lifestyle during the winter sets them apart. While the chances of seeing the animals are slim\, their tracks and signs will tell us the story of their daily routines and NRWA staff will provide some mounts and pelts for close examination of the animals' thick double coated fur\, streamlined body types\, and unique feet shapes. \n\nThis outdoor program\, designed for adults and youth 12 years and up\, will include off-trail hiking and targeted time to examine and discuss animal tracks and signs as a group. Program fees include $20/person for NRWA members and $25/person for non-members. Space is limited for a small group experience\; registration required. Register online at www.NashuaRiverWatershed.org. Questions can be sent to NRWA educators at registration@NashuaRiverWatershed.org.
