DESCRIPTION:You're invited to the Nashua River Watershed Association's 2013 Annual Meeting on Thursday\, November 7\, 2013\, beginning at 7:00 p.m.\, at the Applewild School\, 120 Prospect Street\, in Fitchburg.\n\n \n\nThis year's Keynote Speaker will be Nobel Laureate Dr. Eric Chivian\, M.D. Dr. Chivian is the founder of the Center for Health and the Global Environment at Harvard Medical School\, and co-founder of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War\, recipient of the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize. He is the editor and lead author\, with Dr. Aaron Bernstein\, of the much-acclaimed book Sustaining Life: How Human Health Depends on Biodiversity (Oxford University Press 2008). \n\n \n\nAt the Annual Meeting\, we will celebrate the accomplishments of the past year\, elect officers and directors\, recognize our Watershed Circle and River Club business members\, and present the 2013 NRWA Conservation and Education Awards. This year's Land and Water Conservation Award will be presented to Warren Kimball of the MA Dept. of Environmental Protection.  Lynn Fiandaca & Colleen Faris from Fall Brook Elementary School in Leominster will be honored with our Environmental Education Award.  \n\n \n\nThank you to Carl & Carol Canner and to AECOM for their sponsorship of our 2013 Annual Meeting.\n\n \n\nTicket price for the Annual Meeting and Dessert is $20 per person.  Join us at 7:00 p.m. for a chance to connect with NRWA Board\, staff\, and other supporters. As always\, the latter part of the evening with the business meeting and speaking portions can be attended at no charge.  Reservations are required\; RSVP deadline is October 31st.
