SUMMARY:* Michael Nesmith at the Bull Run
DESCRIPTION:Tickets will go on sale to the public on August 20.\n\n\n\nAs you know\, Newsletter subscribers get first crack at the best seats.\n\nYou won't see this show on our website yet\, but you can call 978-425-4311 and buy tickets with your credit card before they become available to the general public.\n\n\n\nI'm sure you all know Michael from his role with The Monkees\, but he has covered much more ground in his 50-year career as country-rock pioneer\, music-video ground-breaker\, musical iconoclast\, actor\, producer\, novelist\, businessman\, and philanthropist.\n\nAnd now\, at 70\, he is touring on his own for the first time in two decades with his band consisting of Nesmith on guitar\, bassist Joe Chemay\, Paul Leim on drums and Boh Cooper on keyboards.\n\n\n\nThis show is more-or-less a chronological sampling of his catalog spanning the country-rock records he made at the dawn of the 1970s through those that followed during the rest of that decade\, with a dip here and there ("Rays\," the propulsive "Laugh Kills Lonesome") into his later work. And by playing "Propinquity\," "Joanne\," "Different Drum" (a version with marvelous\, gypsy-accordion feel)\, "Some of Shelly's Blues\," "Silver Moon\," "Rio\," and "Grand Ennui\," he gives the people (to their loudly- expressed delight) what they come to hear.\n\n\n\nSome of his songs were made famous by Linda Rondstadt\, Paul Butterfield Blues Band\, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band\, Run DMC\, Linda Hargrove and Andy Williams. He was executive producer of the cult film Repo Man (1984). He won the first-ever Grammy Award given for Video of the Year for his hour-long television show\, "Elephant Parts\," which included many artists who went on to become major stars in their own right: Jay Leno\, Jerry Seinfeld\, Garry Shandling\, Whoopi Goldberg and Arsenio Hall.\n\n\n\nThe body of Michael Nesmith's work has been described by Rolling Stone magazine as "the greatest music never heard."\n\n\n\nThe opportunity to hear these compositions played in an intimate setting amounts to nothing less than a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.\n\n\n\nWe are a full-service\, farm-to-table restaurant. Parking is always free and when our front lot gets full drive over the covered bridge for more.\n\n\n\nPlease arrive an hour and a half to two hours before showtime to allow time for a relaxing meal\, appetizers and cocktails before the show.
