Bryan's primary goal is to foster a positive and comfortable working relationship with Veterans in order to gain their trust and confidence so the Veteran feels comfortable when approached about receiving readjustment counseling services and benefits assistance.  Being an 8 year Active Duty Army Staff Sergeant Veteran with 2 combat deployments to Iraq totaling 27 months\, diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)\, Bryan's diagnosis and experience helps him understand and appreciate Veterans' war experiences\, while being able to assist them and their family members toward a successful post-war adjustment here in the community.  This ability to connect with Veterans has continuously led to outstanding results.\n\nDr. Stephanie Rodrigues\, Assistant Professor Department of Psychiatry\, Division of Addiction\, University of Massachusetts Medical School\n\nDr. Stephanie Rodrigues is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry's Division of Addiction at the UMass Medical School with extensive research and clinical experience in the treatment of severe mental illness and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders among general\, veteran and homeless populations.\n\nDr. Rodrigues is particularly interested in studying the role of stigma in the treatment engagement of these and other stigmatized populations\, as well as the implementation and evaluation of treatment programs that target stigma reduction in order to promote recovery.\n\nDr. Rodrigues received her doctorate from the Combined Clinical/School Psychology Program at Hofstra University and completed a Department of Veterans Affairs Advanced Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program in Health Services Research at the Center for Health Quality Outcomes and Economic Research at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital.\n\nDr. Heather Brenhouse\, Assistant Professor of Behavioral Neuroscience Psychology Department\, Northeastern University.\n\nCognitive deficits apparent in school-aged children are often an early warning sign for mental illness later in life\, according to Dr. Heather Brenhouse\, an instructor of psychiatry and researcher at Northeastern University.\n\nDr. Brenhouse\, who was previously an instructor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School\, has noted that studies have shown the onset of depression to be delayed an average of 9 to 10 years following stressful and traumatic experiences endured by young people.\n\nDr. Brenhouse\, whose research has been previously funded in part by the SHINE Initiative as well as the Brain Behavior Research Foundation\, has more recently received a grant from the National Insti tutes of Health to explore the con nec tion between child hood trauma and ado les cent mental illness.\n\nDr. Brenhouse received a Bachelor of Science degree from Binghamton University\, New York\, a Masters in Science from Rutgers University\, a Ph. D. from Northeastern University\, and a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the Harvard Medical School.
