DESCRIPTION:'Masterpiece in a Mill Town' \n\n	\n\n	World Premiere\n\n \n\n	Wednesday\, August 14\, \n\n	8 p.m.\n\n \n\n	Somerville Theatre\n\n	55 Davis Square\n\n	Somerville\, MA\n\n 617-625-5700 \n\n \n\n	Q & A with former Fitchburg Art Museum Director Peter Timms \n\n	and Film Director Emily Driscoll\n\n	\n\n	\n\n	\n\n	\n\n	Masterpiece in A Mill Town\, a 30-minute documentary directed by Fitchburg native Emily V. Driscoll\, explores the improbable story of the Fitchburg Art Museum\, from its 1927 founding\, through two disastrous fires in 1933\, the depression\, its rebirth and expansion to the family friendly institution it is today. Pioneer artist and feminist Eleanor Norcross founded the Fitchburg Art Museum so that people in "her native place\," a mill town in Massachusetts\, could experience "the joy and inspiration of art" that she discovered while painting in 19th century Paris. The story explores what happened when\, in 1973\, the Museum's trustees engaged an unlikely candidate\, a former Marine Corps Captain and Archaeologist\, Peter Timms\, to revive its fortunes and expand Eleanor Norcross' vision. \n\n \n\n	.
