DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, October 25\, 2012\n\n	7:30-9am\n\n	Hilton Garden Inn (59 Andrews Parkway\, Devens)\n\n	$20 Members advance ~ $30 Non-Members & @ the door\n\n	 \n\n	Guest speakers: George Ramirez\, MassDevelopment\, Mike Meyers & Chris Byers\, New England Studios\n\n	\n		George Ramirez will give a brief overview of the latest MassDevelopment projects and initiatives\, including the New England Studios project. Mike Meyers will highlight the construction phase with a video and Chris Byers will discuss New England Studios\, updates on the progress of the project and what it will mean for Devens as well as the Commonwealth.\n\n		\n\n		Following the breakfast - we will visit the site for a tour of the project.  Please wear appropriate shoes.  Sign up required in advance. \n	\n		\n\n		\n\n		As executive vice president of Devens operations\, George Ramirez oversees the continued redevelopment of the former military base into an economic engine for north central Massachusetts. \n	\n		Mr. Ramirez brings nearly two decades of expertise to MassDevelopment. He worked most recently as deputy director and general counsel in the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development\, where he played a key role in managing six agencies and more than 80 fulltime employees. In that capacity\, he facilitated state support for economic development\, chaired the Economic Assistance Coordinating Council\, served as a member of the Emerging Technology Fund Advisory Committee and coordinated the Governor's Development Cabinet. In addition to his service as a member of the Lowell City Council\, Mr. Ramirez has also run a private law practice for six years. A resident of Lowell\, he holds a B.A. from UMass-Lowell and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School\, where he has served as a member of the Board of Trustees.\n	\n		 \n\n		Mike Meyers Michael Meyers is the Managing Director of MJM Development\, LLC. He is Director of Real Estate Development for New England Studios and will share marketing responsibility with Chris Byers.  Mr. Meyers has 26 years of real estate development experience\, having developed over 6 million square feet of commercial and hospitality properties across the country. He is a lifelong resident of Massachusetts\n	\n		Chris Byers is the Director of Studio Operations and Marketing for New England Studios. He is a Lowell native with 28 years experience in all aspects of the film industry.  Chris has worked tirelessly to bring this concept to reality. Chris and his management team will be the operators of the studios upon completion.
