"We've lined up a full day of events and promotions for the whole family and the community as well."\n\n \n\nThe day kicks off at 9 a.m. with a vintage toy car exhibit at the Clinton Historical Society\, until 2 p.m.\, and a model train exhibit from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. by the Wachusett Model Railroad Club at the former fire station on Church Street.\n\n \n\nFrom 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Collective Causes\, at Ciccone Family Fitness\, will feature a holiday shop from local nonprofit groups\, including the Item Appeal\, WHEAT Community Connection\, the Clinton Rotary Scholarship Fund\, Girl Scouts\, Clinton Athletic Booster Club\, Clinton Historical Society and more.\n\n \n\nFrom 10 a.m. to noon\, there will be a luminary bag crafting workshop at Sooo Chic\, a children's paper wreath workshop at Collins Artworks\, a children's Zumba and fitness class at Cicconne Family Fitness and an African craft workshop at the Gallery of African Art.\n\n \n\nFrom noon to 2 p.m.\, Audrey Nicholson will be signing copies of her book\, "Celtic Knots: The Ties That Bind\," at the Tinker's Cart. "Shop Your Tat-Ta's Off\," a benefit for Breast Intentions\, will feature over 15 vendors of items like Avon and Thirty-One bags\, will be at the Clinton Elementary School from noon to 4 p.m..\n\n \n\nAnd\, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.\, the Strand Theatre will show "A Muppets Christmas Carol."\n\n \n\nClinton Town Hall will host the Clinton Selectmen's Christmas Party from 2 to 4 p.m.\n\n \n\nThe night will end with holiday tree lighting ceremony at Central Park\, at 6 p.m.\n\n \n\nMany of the Clinton stores are offering discounts. In addition\, downtown restaurants will be offering luncheon and family specials.\n\n \n\nThroughout the day\, shoppers will be able to earn a chance to win any number of holiday prizes\, including Christmas trees\, wreaths and poinsettias.\n\n \n\n"Shop Local Saturday" is an initiative sponsored by the Small Business Administration and supported American Express.\n\n \n\n"People everywhere are beginning to understand the benefits we all gain by supporting local business\," said Phil Duffy\, Clinton's Economic Development director.
