DESCRIPTION:Bird is the Word: Birdwatching Workshop for Children and Their Families\n\nSaturday\, May 10\, 2014\, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. in Groton\n\nBirdwatching is a wonderful\, easy-to-do nature activity for families\, and what better time to start than during spring migration! The NRWA and the Groton Public Library invite families to join us for this free birdwatching workshop for children and their families. Learn about our local birds and discover birders' secrets to spotting\, identifying\, and enjoying birds that inhabit our fields\, forests\, wetlands\, and rivers. We will explore the diverse wetlands and woodlands along a section of the Nashua River Rail Trail. Discover this fun family activity and become inspired to start a backyard bird list. Bring binoculars and field guides if you have them. The workshop is structured for ages 5 -12 years and their families\; backpack babies are welcome. This free public program co-sponsored by the NRWA and the Groton Public Library is made possible by a grant from the Groton Trust Funds' Lecture Fund.  Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Directions to the meeting place will be provided upon registration.
