He graduated with a BA in psychology from Harvard University and dual masters from Columbia University's Teacher's College. \n\n \n\n In 2012\, Hakeem began openly sharing his journey with mental illness. Since then\, he has testified in front of the House of Representatives and the Senate\, been featured in USA Today\, and has shared his journey with nearly 100\,000 college\, high school\, and middle school students. \n\n \n\n He is a TEDx speaker\, author\, and recorded spoken word artist. In 2016\, Hakeem founded I Am Acceptance\, Inc\, a 501 c 3 non-profit focused on empowering the next generation around mental wellness.
