\n \; | \n \n \n \n | \n \n \n \n | \n \n \n \n \;\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The New England barn has been an essential part of our rural landscape since the colonial era. This tour will feature six historic barns\, each with a unique story to tell. It will also feature a newer barn as a &ldquo\;modern spin&rdquo\; to a classic structure. The historic barns will host living history characters reminiscing about their days working in the barns. Characters portrayed will include Arathusa (Sawyer) Atherton with her tale of discovering her father&rsquo\;s participation in the Underground Railroad\, Deacon Isaac Stone&rsquo\;s experiences carving gravestones from Harvard&rsquo\;s Pin Hill quarry\, Rebecca Turner detailing life on a mid-nineteenth century dairy farm and Reverend John Dodge recounting his days as Harvard&rsquo\;s Congregational minister and his own Underground Railroad experiences. Tour-goers will have the opportunity to view the work of and speak with experts in heirloom apples and apple tree grafting\, stone carving\, quilt making\, spinning\, wood carving\, stained glass\, brewing of beer and hard cider\, wine making\, and scenic painting.
