DESCRIPTION:The Ayer Shirley Education Foundation presents\n\n\n\nAn Evening with Chris Herren\n\n\n\nWednesday\, February 11\, 2015\n\n\n\nASRHS Auditorium ~ 7:00 PM\n\n\n\nParents\, teenagers\, educators and concerned community members are invited\n\nto hear this incredible speaker don't miss out!\n\n\n\nChris Herren is a former NBA basketball player\, motivational speaker\,\n\nauthor and sobriety advocate who struggled with substance abuse for much of\n\nhis basketball career. Alcohol and drug-free since August 1\, 2008\, he has\n\nrefocused his life to put his sobriety and family above all else.\n\n\n\nHe shares his harrowing story of abuse and recovery in his memoir\,\n\nBasketball Junkie\, as well as in numerous interviews throughout the Emmy\n\nnominated ESPN Films documentary Unguarded\, of which he is the subject.\n\n\n\nWith the hope of reaching just one person and making an impact\, Chris\n\ntravels the United States sharing his story with professional athletic\n\nteams and leagues including the NBA\, NFL and MLB\, universities and\n\ncolleges\, high schools and community groups.
