SUMMARY:* 3-D PRINTING - OPEN HOUSE EXHIBIT
DESCRIPTION:NEW! 3-D PRINTING - OPEN HOUSE EXHIBIT (ALL AGES)\n\n \n\nInstructor: Richard Thall\n\nLocation: Roudenbush\, 65 Main Street\n\n \n\n\nRCC-E11700 Sept 26 (Fri) 6:30 pm-7:30 pm individual registration Age 13+ is $15/$12\, family registration $23/$20\n\n \n\nRegister\n\n\nYou have probably seen reports of 3-D Printing\, but been baffled. How can printing be 3 dimensional? You're joking\, right? And how do they make that impossible object in the picture? Maybe it's a drawing trick? \n\n\n\nIt is not a trick. It is a new way to think about the term printing and how it enables creation of tangible objects in thin air. This open demonstration will answer many of your questions and show how\, with a modest budget\, you can have a printer small enough to place on your desk that will create complex tangible 3 D objects you can hold in your hand. \n\n\n\nYou will observe 3 D printers in operation. You will learn about WWW repositories of hundreds of thousands of model files you can download for free and recreate right on your desk. You will learn about software for creating models from your own imagination. You may get to try a 3 D pen or a Doodle3D design system in a box\, or a 3 D mouse you don't have to touch. But\, no matter how many amazing things you learn\, you will leave wondering how can I use it for my art\, for school\, for gifts\, for doll furniture\, for other hobbies\, for mechanical repairs\, for my business\, for my job\, or just for fun. During class\, a project will be completed\, fee is payable to instructor\, choices range from $5 to $15.\n\n\n\nCome\, be amazed\, and begin plotting your escape from flatland.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the instructor:\n\nRichard (Rich) Thall is an engineer\, maker\, 3-D printing hobbyist\, and educational 3-D printing consultant. Contact him with questions about this course at: rthall@cognizee.com.
